"Building Homes: Rebuilding Lives"

LSSI works with construction training programs within Illinois prisons and federal penitentiaries to facilitate the production of affordable housing for low-income families.

Housing components are constructed entirely within the prison walls. Incarcerated persons are taught how to assemble exterior and interior walls, roof trusses, cabinets and storage sheds.
